Svitolina has a strong win against Pavlyuchenkova in the second round of the US Open
Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina (No. 26 WTA) reached the third round of the US Open.
In the second round, the Ukrainian player defeated Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova (No. 98 WTA) in a tough fight.

This was the sixth match between tennis players, the Ukrainian equalized the score of personal matches. Elina played her eighth game in the second round of the US Open and won for the seventh time.
Svitolina won her sixth match in a row against Russian tennis players.
In the next round, the winner of the match will face Patricia-Maria Teague (No. 700 WTA) or Jessica Pegula (No. 3 WTA).
Note that Elina is the only Ukrainian in the singles category to reach the third round. Earlier, Lesya Tsurenko had lost the second round match.
