Alexei Selivanenko, Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF), said that Russian Daniil Medvedev outplayed Australian Christopher O’Connell in the second round of the US Open.
Medvedev beat O’Connell in four games. The next opponent of the third racket of the world will be the Argentinean Sebastian Baez.
– Having confidently played the first two sets, at the end of the third Daniil slightly let go of the thread of the game, and that was enough for Christopher, having caught the courage, seized the initiative and was able to transfer the match to the fourth set.
Another example of the fact that in tennis a few badly played balls can change the course of the match. But then Daniil returned to his game and brought the match to a not so easy victory as it seemed after the first two sets, – Vprognoze.ru quotes Selivanenko.
