Soviet and Russian tennis player Andrei Olkhovsky spoke about the upcoming match of the 1/8 finals of the US Open, in which the third racket of the world Russian Daniil Medvedev will play with the representative of Australia Alex De Minor.
On Sunday, Russian Daniil Medvedev reached the fourth round of the US Open, beating Argentinean Sebastian Baes with a score of 6:2, 6:2, 7:6 (8:6).
– Daniil lost to De Minor in Canada (0:2 at the tournament in Toronto in August – Ed.), but that match did not reflect the real state of things in the game. At the Grand Slam tournament, the format is different – five sets. Daniil feels more confident on the court than in Canada. I hope the result will be in the other direction, but De Minor is a rather serious opponent, – quotes the words of Olkhovsky “Championship”.
The match between Medvedev and De Minor will take place on Monday, September 4th.
