Sobolenko will remove Sventek from the first line of the WTA rankings

Belarusian tennis player Arina Sobolenko will become the first racket of the world next week.

25-year-old Sobolenko on the first line of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) ranking will replace the Polish player Iga Sventek, who lost to the representative of Latvia Elena Ostapenko in the fourth round of the US Open. Schwentek tops the world rankings for 75 weeks. The new version of the rating will be published on September 11, after the end of the US Open.

Sobolenko will become the leader of the rating for the first time in his career. She won 13 WTA tournaments in singles, this season she won the title at the Australian Open.
