Polish tennis player Iga Sviontek He commented that he would lose his status as the world’s first racket due to the defeat of Alena Ostapenko (6:3, 3:6, 1:6) in the 4th round match of the US Open.

– I’m surprised how much my level has dropped. I don’t know what happened to my game. I suddenly lost control. I need to look into this topic because I don’t know why I’m starting to make so many mistakes.

– The state of the world’s first racket seems to be putting pressure on you. Is there a sense of relief?

– The truth is, I wouldn’t call it “relaxation.” There are many things I know I should have done differently. Maybe I’m not mature enough for that yet.

I try not to think about the first line. Sometimes when you force yourself not to think about something, the result is the opposite. I am very happy to have smart people around me who tell me how to do this job and guide me. But actually it all depends on me.

Of course, next time I find myself in the same situation, I will act differently because there was some stress today and it shouldn’t have been like this. So tennis is a stressful sport in general, but I understood a little more. I’ll act differently next time, so I think it’s a positive thing.
