Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev should learn from the loss to Australia’s Alex De Minor at the Toronto tournament, said Andrey Olkhovsky, a former winner of two Grand Slams in mixed doubles.

On Sunday, Russian Daniil Medvedev reached the fourth round of the US Open, beating Argentinean Sebastian Baes with a score of 6:2, 6:2, 7:6 (8:6). Medvedev’s next opponent will be De Minor, whom he lost in the ¼ final of the tournament in Toronto with a score of 6:7 (7:9), 5:7.

– I believe that the upcoming match between Medvedev and De Minor will be different from the previous one. Daniil last time played in a different style, too active for himself. He and the team should learn from that recent defeat in Toronto.

De Minor is a very formidable opponent, but in a five-set format there should be a different game. Daniil needs to catch his rhythm this time, – Olkhovsky told RB Sport.

The match between Medvedev and De Minor will take place on Monday, September 4th.
