A fan was escorted from the stands at the US Open after Alexander Zverev claimed he had quoted Adolf Hitler.

The incident occurred during the US Open fourth round match between Zverev and Italian Yannick Sinner. In the fourth set, with the score 2-2, the German asked tower umpire James Keotavong to suspend the game because he heard a spectator “say Hitler’s most famous line”.

The judge tried to find out who exactly said these words. With the help of the fans sitting nearby and the journalist, it was possible to identify the violator, who was removed from the stadium.

The meeting ended with the victory of Zverev, who in the ¼ finals of the US Open will play with the first racket of the world Spaniard Carlos Alcaras.

Earlier, Daniil Medvedev complained about the behavior of the fans at the tournament after the match with Sebastian Baez.

Thanks to everyone who didn’t scream between my first and second serve. However, there was a spectator, maybe he has a girlfriend or a wife, I don’t know how she will sleep … He was especially excited and would spend the night repeating “Vamos, vamos, vamos” without ceasing. I feel sorry for him,” the Russian said after the game.
