U.S. Open Spectator kicked out after shouting lyrics to Nazi Germany anthem

(New York) A spectator was ejected from the U.S. Open on Monday during Germany’s Alexander Zverev’s match against Italy’s Jannik Sinner for shouting the words to Nazi Germany’s anthem from the stands.

Zverev was serving in the fourth set in the Round of 16 against Italy’s Jannik Sinner on Arthur Ashe Court when the incident happened.

German, 12e world, went to chair umpire James Keothavong to complain. “He just said the most famous Hitler phrase in the world,” Zverev told the referee. ” It’s incredible “.

Keothavong then consulted security officials in an attempt to identify the culprit. Eventually, a man wearing a blue baseball cap was singled out and ordered to leave the compound.

Zverev then told reporters that he heard the viewer sing the opening words of the Nazi-era German anthem, “Deutschland Über Alles.” “He started singing the Hitler anthem of the time – Deutschland Über Alles – it was a bit too much,” Zverev said.

“He’s been involved in the game for a long time and that doesn’t bother me. I like when the fans are loud, I like when the fans are emotional, but I think as a German I’m not really proud of this story, it’s not really a good thing to do added the 26-year-old.

“And him, sitting in one of the front rows, a lot of people heard him. If I don’t react, I think it’s not good of me,” he said.

Zverev, however, said he didn’t let the incident shake him as he eventually secured a five-set victory over the world No.6 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 , 6-3.

Australian Open Gauff in the 2nd round without trembling

(Melbourne) American Coco Gauff, 3e world, passed the first round of the Australian Open without difficulty on Monday, dismissing Uzbek Kamilla Rakhimova (93e) 6-2, 6-3.

“I tried not to put pressure on myself. I’m here to win the tournament. I will only be happy if I win the title,” commented the 21-year-old.

Gauff, who reached the semi-finals last year in Melbourne, his best result, will face in 2e Serbian left-hander Olga Danilovic (69)e).

“I trained against a left-hander, Alexandra Eala, because there aren’t many left-handers on the circuit. It’s going to be a tough game, but I’m looking forward to it,” Gauff said.

Winner of the US Open 2023 and Roland-Garros 2025, she served for the match at 5-2 but was unable to finish. She did so in the next game by taking Rakhimova’s serve for the sixth time.

“I would have preferred to end a game earlier on my serve, but we have many chances to break here,” Gauff emphasized.

US Open is the first trophy of 2019. Andreescu became 35K champion in the USA

25-year-old Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu (WTA 228) became the champion of the ITF W35 challenging tournament in Bradenton (USA), where she was the first seed.

On the way to the Cup, Bianca lost only one set and passed: Malkia Ngunue (USA), Tatiana Peri (Italy, WTA 350), Ella MacDonald (Great Britain, WTA 527), Li Ma (USA, WTA 342) and Vivian Wolff (USA, WTA 330).

This was Andreescu’s first trophy since her US Open title in 2019. Bianca skipped the first major of the season, the Australian Open 2026, to make a smooth return to the Tour and get into physical shape.

Andreescu, who has had back problems for a long time, sprained her ankle at a tournament in Montreal at the end of July 2025. After the Canadian’s thousandth, Bianca made five appearances and four defeats before the end of 2025.
