Shelton made a bold statement before meeting with Djokovic
American tennis player Ben Shelton shared his mood for his match against Serbian Novak Djokovic in the 1/2 finals of the US Open.
“Winning the game against Novak is hard work. Every time you enter a match with someone who has struggled at that level and you win, you can’t get that out of your mind. You know how tough and strong your opponent is mentally and physically. That’s why I have to come up with a plan. But I have an advantage; Novak will be playing with someone he hasn’t met on the field before. I think I can offer him something you wouldn’t see in a regular match of the tour. I hope I’m destructive,” Shelton said.
Recall that 20-year-old Ben Shelton defeated compatriot Francis Tiafoe in the 1/4 final match of the US Open.
