US Open. Women. 1/2 finals
Coco Goff (USA, 6) – Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic, 10) – 6:4, 7:5
This was the rivals’ second encounter in history, and Goff was defeated again.
Goff, 19, became the youngest American woman to reach the home grand finals since 1999, when 17-year-old Serena Williams won the title. We also remember that last season Goff made it to the finals at Roland Garros.
In the US Open 2023 final, Goff will play against Madison Keys (No. 17 WTA) or Arina Sobolenko (No. 2 WTA).
