Medvedev beats Alcaraz and will play Djokovic in the US Open final

Russian Daniil Medvedev beat Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the US Open.
The third number of the ATP ranking Medvedev defeated the first racket of the world with a score of 7:6 (7:3), 6:1, 3:6, 6:3. The game lasted 3 hours 22 minutes. The 27-year-old Russian tennis player reached the final of the US Open for the third time.
The score in head-to-head matches between Medvedev and Alcaraz became 2-2, while the Russian twice beat the Spanish tennis player at Grand Slam tournaments.
The other finalist of the tournament was Serbian Novak Djokovic, who beat American Ben Shelton with a score of 6:3, 6:2, 7:6 (7:4) in 2 hours 40 minutes.
The final between Medvedev and Djokovic will take place on September 10. The rivals will meet for the 15th time: previously, the Serbian tennis player won nine victories in head-to-head meetings, Medvedev was stronger five times, including in the final of the US Open 2021.
