Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev reacted to the behavior of fans during the US Open ½ final match against Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

Medvedev defeated the world number one in four sets – 7:6 (7:3), 6:1, 3:6, 6:3. As the match progressed, fans periodically booed the Russian during his serve.

“Honestly, the fans were just incredible. Absolutely incredible, and I mean it. We had some crazy moments where I felt… let’s call it love on both sides.

The only thing is that probably 1000 Spanish guys started screaming during the first and second serves when the score was 5:3. It’s not very pleasant. They were probably desperate, so I’m glad it didn’t help them. Now they can go to bed,” Medvedev said in a post-match interview.

Thanks to this victory, Medvedev reached his fifth Grand Slam final, the third time this happened at the US Open. The best result in the Russian’s career remains his victory at the 2021 US Open.

In the final of the US Open 2023, Medvedev will play with Serbian Novak Djokovic, the match will take place on September 10.
