US Open. Dabrowski and Routliffe win doubles majors for the first time in their careers
Canadian tennis player Gabriela Dabrowski and an Australian Erin Routliff America became the doubles champion of the great US Open.
In the final, Dabrowski and Routliffe defeated German tennis players Laura Siegemund and Vera Zvonareva. The first set ended in a drawn-out tiebreak in which the Canada-Australia duo needed to win 11 rallies to win. In the second game, Dabrowski and Rutliff took a 3:0 lead with two breaks and then took the set and the match to victory.
For both Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe, this was their first major doubles title. The Canadian tennis player had previously won the Australian Open and Roland Garros in mixed doubles, and the Australian had won a major title for the first time.
