Former world number seven, French tennis player Richard Gasquet (ATP No. 65) won the opening match of the Challenger Series tournament in Rennes, France.

In the first set of the match against another Frenchman, Jules Marie, with a score of 3:5, Gasquet made a break and soon made a break at 5:5, which became decisive in the game. After that, the 37-year-old master player quickly took the game and closed the set with serve.
