Serena Williams sarcastically reacts to Halep’s disqualification

23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams There was reaction to the four-year disqualification of former world number one Simona Halep.

“8 is a more appropriate number,” the American wrote on Twitter, implying that he lost the Wimbledon 2019 final to the Romanian. Williams Jr. has seven major grass championships.

Serena also liked former tennis player Nicole Gibbs’ post: “It’s such a disappointment to find out half of your idols in the sport are cheating. It’s so frustrating, it makes the sport seem so stupid and not a fair fight, and it makes you wonder how many people are slipping through the cracks (too many) I’m guessing).”

Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, posted a photo from the first round of the 2019 US Open (in which his wife played against Maria Sharapova, who was caught doping), with the caption, “Some things never go out of style.” She was wearing a T-shirt with the DARE logo, an education program aimed at combating illegal substance use. Serena commented: “It’s really still trending.”
