In the early hours of Friday morning, Sakkari’s quarterfinal against Navarro took place
Maria Sakkari is already in the top eight in San Diego and will fight Emma Navarro for a place in the semi-finals in the early hours of Friday morning.
Maria Sakkari reached the quarterfinals of the San Diego tournament by overcoming the obstacle of Camila Osorio (she was unable to finish her match against the Greek champion due to injury and was eliminated in the second set) and is now ready for the next competitive challenge.
She goes by the name Emma Navarro, which was given to Aliaksandra Sasnovic. Sakkari’s match against the 22-year-old American (ranked No. 61) is scheduled to begin at approximately 4:45 a.m. Friday morning at Barnes Stadium.
The winner will face one of Potapova or Kenin in the semifinals, meaning Sakkari will not face a seeded player until the final of the competition.
