Kichenok and Friedsam became champions of the tournament in Japan
Ukraine’s third racket in doubles Nadezhda Kichenok and her German partner Anna-Lena Friedsam won the doubles title at the WTA 250 tournament in Osaka, Japan.
In the final, the Ukrainian-Germany duo defeated Yulia Putintseva and Anna Kalinskaya from Kazakhstan. The first set ended in a tiebreak in which Kichenok and Fridsam made only three rallies, and the Ukrainian and German won the second game without reaching the tiebreak.
For Nadezhda Kichenok, the title in Osaka was her first this season and the ninth title in her WTA career.
