The world’s twentieth racket Beatrice Haddad Maya She had to withdraw from the WTA 1000 tournament held in Guadalajara, Mexico, after an accident that occurred in a hotel.
“Last night, Sunday, as I was getting out of the shower at the hotel, the door exploded and I cut myself. I had to go to the hospital in Guadalajara to get stitches (both arms involved) and unfortunately for us I won’t be able to play in this special tournament.
Otherwise I’m fine except I’m scared. It could be worse. I will need a few days to heal my injuries so that I can return and complete the tasks of the 2023 season before the end of the year.
I appreciate your support and good energy. Have a great week, see you soon,” Haddad Maya wrote.
Let us remind you that four Ukrainian tennis players competed in the tournament in Guadalajara: Dayana Yastremskaya, Angelina Kalinina, Marta Kostyuk and Lyudmila Kichenok.
