Yastremskaya lost to the former world number one in the 2nd round of the tournament in Mexico.

Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya (WTA 102) completed their performance in the challenging WTA 1000 series tournament held in Guadalajara (Mexico).

In the 1/16 final of the competition, the Ukrainian athlete lost in two sets to the former world number one racket. Victoria Azarenka (WTA 23) in 2 hours 10 minutes.

Dayana Yastremskaya (Ukraine) – Victoria Azarenko – 4:6, 6:7 (5:7)

In the 2nd match, the Ukrainian player took the lead twice and took 2 set points, but could not capitalize on this advantage.

This was the third meeting between the tennis players. Dayana lost the 2nd match.

In the 1/8 finals of the tournament, Azarenka will face 7th ranked Veronika Kudermetova.

Kazakhstani tennis player Yulia Putintseva (WTA 105) can compete with Ukraine Marty Kostyuk (WTA 20) in the second round of the 2026 Australian Open.

Putintseva lost in the first round of the Australian major Beatrice Hadda Mayu (Brazil, WTA 59) in 2 hours 55 minutes.

Kostyuk will face Putintseva if she defeats Elsa Jacquemot (France, WTA 58) in the 1/64 final match.

Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya (WTA 27) has completed its campaign at the 2026 Australian Open.
