Member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev called conversations about the possibility of Russian athletes participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris premature.

At the end of March, the IOC announced recommendations for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions. Recommendations include individual admission, neutral status, a ban on participation in team sports, and a ban on the participation of athletes associated with security forces or who have expressed support for the SVO. The decision on the 2024 Summer Games in Paris will be announced later.

— I don’t quite understand the wording “go to the Olympics individually.” What this means, I think we will find out later. But to go or not to go is a question that needs to be decided after all the admission conditions are announced.

More than one IOC session will take place before Paris, so all this talk is premature. You can harm yourself with such topics,” Sport24 quotes Tarpishchev.

The Olympics in the French capital will be held from July 26 to August 11.
