Number one in the old world Simona Halep sued the company that made the supplement contaminated with roxadustat, which was found in drug testing. This was announced a week after the athlete was disqualified for four years by his lawyer Bogdan Stoica.

“More than a month and a half ago, I filed a lawsuit against a Canadian company. “The request can only be for compensation and cannot have any impact on the sports case.”

Simona Halep reportedly failed to report the problematic supplement she was taking on the advice of her physiotherapist Candice Goye. The tennis player said he forgot about it.

“That’s true. She didn’t fill it out. You have to understand that Simone passed over 200 tests during this time. Generally, you don’t write down what you eat on these forms, you usually enter things that are medical in nature and available by prescription.” added Stoica.

Note that Halep is awaiting a decision from the independent sports dispute resolution body (Sport Decisions), after which they will have 21 days to appeal the decision to CAS.
