(Paris) Maria Sakkari, winner of the WTA 1000 tournament in Guadalajara (Mexico) on Saturday, makes the greatest progress in the world top 10 world (+3), unchanged for its first five places according to the ranking published Monday.
The 28-year-old Greek player, whose best ranking is third place in the world in 2022, moved up three places to sixth place, thanks to her victory in the final against the American Caroline Dolehide (7-5, 6-3).
Dolehide, for his part, at the age of 25, made a cannonball entry into the top 100gaining 69 places at once to land in 42e position.
No change, however, at the top of the ranking, where the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka is still ahead of the Polish Iga Swiatek and the winner of the United States Open, the 19-year-old American Cori Gauff.
In the top 10the Czechs Marketa Vondrousova (8e) and Karolina Muchova (9e) lose two and one place respectively.
Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia (10e), beaten in the semi-final of Guadalajara by Sakkari, returns to the top 10from which she ejects another Czech, Barbora Krejcikova, who falls back in 11e position.
