Former world number one, Russian Maria Sharapova, told how she lost a bet to multiple Grand Slam winner Serbian Novak Djokovic.
— Novak and I have a funny story. This was when we won our first Grand Slam tournaments. We played in an exhibition tournament in Indian Wells. I don’t remember what they were talking about, but he said that if he wins the bet, we’ll go to dinner. I said, “Okay, fine, it doesn’t matter if it happens.” And then he won and said we were going to dinner. It was so funny. At dinner he said, “Can we take a picture?” — Sportskeeda quotes Sharapova.
Sharapova is a winner of five Grand Slam tournaments and has won 36 WTA tournaments throughout her career. Djokovic holds the record for most Grand Slam singles titles (24).
