Swiatek wins first match after losing world number one status
Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek (WTA 2) made a successful start to the challenging WTA 500 series tournament held in Tokyo (Japan).
Poland, which ranked 1st in the 1/8 finals of the competition, Mai Hontamu (Japan, WTA 148) in 2 hours and 3 minutes.

In the first match, Iga lost 1:4 with two breaks, but managed to come back and take the set.
This was the girls’ 2nd date. Polish women beat the Japanese twice.
Swiatek won the first match after losing his world number one status. Iga could not defend her US Open 2023 title and lost her place to Aryna Sabalenka after staying at the top of the WTA rankings for 75 weeks.
In the quarterfinals of the tournament in Tokyo, Swiatek will face Veronika Kudermetova.
