Ukraine national team will play at the European Beach Tennis Championships
The Ukrainian beach tennis team will participate for the second time in the European Championship, which will be held on the Greek island of Crete between 28 September and 1 October this year. The competition will be held in men’s, women’s and mixed doubles.
Including Ukrainian team: Bogdan Levchuk, Mikhail Radchenko, Dmitry Girich, Stanislav Ordinsky, Katerina Egoreychenko, Elena Kirpot, Tatyana Chvantseva, Anna Martemyanova.
“Undoubtedly, the level of the teams is increasing every year. This championship will be stronger than the previous one because countries such as Estonia and Latvia are accelerating and it is seen that they are developing. The favorites of the competition continue to be the French, Italians and Portuguese, who have been playing this sport for a long time and are very strong players among them, among them the top 10 in the world. Spain and Germany also show very good results. But our team is also strong, this time we had more time to prepare and we used it to the maximum. In any case, we expect very close games with everyone, so there will be no passing games under any circumstances,” said Stanislav Ordynsky, captain of the Ukrainian national beach tennis team.
According to the Euro 2022 results, Ukraine ranked 6th among the 20 participating countries in the team competition and qualified for this year’s world championship.
The European Beach Tennis Championships are part of the ITF Beach Tennis Tour. First played as a team tournament in 2007, the event grows in size each year and more than 100 players regularly participate in the competition.
This year, in addition to Ukraine, 19 countries are participating in the tournament: Bulgaria, England, Greece (host country), Estonia, Israel, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, France, Switzerland, Estonia.
