Veronika Kudermetova beat world number two Shventek for the first time in her career

Russian tennis player Veronika Kudermetova defeated the second racket of the world, Poland’s Iga Szwiatek, in the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 tournament in Tokyo.
The meeting lasted 2 hours 21 minutes and ended with a score of 6:2, 2:6, 6:4 in favor of the Russian woman, seeded eighth. Her opponent received the first seeding number from the organizers.
Kudermetova beat the Polish player for the first time in her career, the score of the head-to-head match was 4–1 in favor of Szwiatek.
In the semi-finals of the tournament, Kudermetova will play with compatriot Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
