27-year-old former Estonian tennis player Anett KontaveitOfficially retiring earlier this year, he says his life did not end when he stopped playing tennis:

“I’m one of those people who thinks for a very long time before making an important decision. I know this is the right decision. I’m 100% at peace with this. Of course I could have achieved so much more, but I know that when I play I give 100% to myself. I did everything I could, so I know this was the right decision for me.

Most of what happened in tennis is already behind us. But I’m so scared about how I’ll deal with things I’ve never had to deal with before: the home routine, the cold, the long winter. My life certainly didn’t end when I stopped playing tennis. There are many other possibilities in life. I think I’m pretty hard-working and I hope to find something new and interesting. And maybe people will hear about me again,” Anette said.

Kontaveit, 27, was the world’s number two singles player but retired due to lumbar disc degeneration in his back.
