Tsitsipas: “I have more to offer, the appetite for work is always there”
Stefanos Tsitsipas emphasized in his statements after qualifying for the next phase of the Shanghai tournament that he still has more to offer.
Stefanos Tsitsipas confidently overcame the hurdle of Rinki Hijikata (No. 75) with a 2-0 set (6-4, 6-2) and secured his ticket to the round of 32 of the 1000-man tournament in Shanghai.
In his statements after the game, the Greek tennis player emphasized his good mental health and emphasized that he still has more to offer.
“I was in a good mental state, even though it took a while to get going. However, my tennis got where it needed to get towards the end of the first set. I didn’t reach the highest level at the beginning of the game, but the longer the game lasted and the deeper we got into rallies and exchanges of blows, the more I found my rhythm and my shots.
The result was a much better feel for my serve, return and baseline hits. I felt like I had more options and could do a lot of things on the field.
The truth is, I haven’t done much here, I’ve had some good results, but I still have more to offer. I try to do something better every day. I might win a few tournaments or go far, but the thirst and desire to work is always there.” expressly stated.
