Russian tennis player Lyudmila Samsonova made it to the finals of the tournament in Beijing.
In the semi-final match, the Russian woman beat Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, seeded fifth, with a score of 7:6 (9:7), 6:3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 40 minutes.
In the final, Samsonova’s opponent will be number two in the WTA rankings, Poland’s Iga Szwiatek. In the semifinals she beat American Cori Gauff.
Previously, Samsonova and Schwiatek met twice, in both cases the Polish tennis player won.
