Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev broke his racket in anger after losing the opening set of the third round match of the tournament in Shanghai against American Sebastian Korda.

The first set ended in Medvedev’s defeat in the tiebreaker – 6:7 (8:10). During the break, the Russian hit the bench several times, breaking his racket. In the second set, the Russian lost with a score of 2:6 and ended his participation in the tournament.

Korda’s next opponent in Shanghai will be the winner of the match between Marton Fucsovics (Hungary) and Francisco Cerundolo (Argentina).

Medvedev is the third racket of the world, winner of the 2020 ATP Final Tournament and the 2021 US Open, as well as 20 ATP series tournaments in singles.
