KALININA: “It was difficult for Perez to come forward after serving”
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina commented on the victory Ellen Perez (Australia, WTA 456) In the 1/16 final of the challenging WTA 500 series tournament held in Zhengzhou (China):
“I just tried to play tennis today. Nothing special. Everything is the same as in other matches. I was prepared and had a good strategy. It was enough for me to win two sets, so I’m happy and satisfied with my performance today.
Perez plays well in doubles, of course he has shown great variability in his game. It was very difficult for him to stand out, especially after serving. There were very difficult games. In the 1/8 final of the tournament, the Ukrainian player will face the winner of the match between Veronika Kudermetova and Vera Zvonareva.
