Russia’s main hope took beautiful revenge on the Ukrainian hysterical woman. She proved everything on the court.

Mirra Andreeva began her performance in Hong Kong with a confident victory. Her rival demanded that she be removed for liking her on social networks.
The rising star of world tennis, Mirra Andreeva, continues to gain positions in the rankings and climb into the elite of the WTA tour. After a good performance at a major tournament in Beijing, the 16-year-old Russian woman found herself in the top 50 for the first time in her career. Mirra has a chance to fly even higher this week, which she is spending in Hong Kong.
It is interesting that already in the first round the lot brought Andreeva together with a scandalous Ukrainian woman who demanded that the athlete from Russia be removed for liking her on social networks.
Excuses and cries
In the opening round of the tournament in Hong Kong, Mirra played with Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremskaya. Previously, the girls met at a clay tournament in Lausanne, and then the Russian defeated her opponent, giving her only two games in the second set. In Hong Kong, Andreeva made her debut as a player in the top 50 of the WTA rankings.
Yastremskaya strengthened her position in the top hundred, rising to 97th place. True, her career will now always be accompanied by the ridiculous doping story that she got into two years ago. Then a prohibited drug was found in Diana’s body, which supposedly got there… after sex. Incredibly, the Ukrainian woman was acquitted!
The meeting between Yastremskaya and Andreeva, as expected, took place without the traditional handshakes in tennis. Alas, this will not surprise anyone. Especially if you remember how Dayana screamed, demanding that Mirra be removed from tournaments because of… likes on social networks. Fortunately, things didn’t come to such insanity, and Internet users massively supported Andreeva.
No chance for a Ukrainian
Mirra approached the new round of confrontation in good shape. It is unlikely that she recalled the machinations of her opponent, but a confident victory would be an excellent response to the provocation of a frankly weaker opponent.
In the first set, games were exchanged and none of the girls managed to achieve a significant advantage. However, in the end Mirra was better. First, she held the difficult ninth game on her serve, and then closed the game with a break. Yastremskaya simply lacked concentration and skill at the decisive moment.
The beginning of the second game was left to the Ukrainian, who pulled out two of the hardest games on the over-under. However, Andreeva quickly won back the gap, and then the tennis players exchanged games on their serve. With the score 3:3, Dayana made three double faults, and Mirra made a break without any effort. Despite her youth, Andreeva played the rest of the match like a grandmaster, not allowing her opponent to even think about a comeback. After the final play, the final score was displayed on the scoreboard – 6:4, 6:3.
Upward spirit
The victory over Yastremskaya was not a sensation for Andreeva. But Mirra’s next rival will be more serious. In the second round, the Russian will meet either Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, seeded number one in Hong Kong, or Canadian Leila Fernandez.
But we can already say for sure that the 16-year-old tennis player will rise even higher in the WTA rankings at the end of the week. She is currently ranked 50th in the world, and her success in the game with Yastremskaya brought her to an intermediate 48th place. Judging by her form and attitude, the top thirty is just around the corner.
And Yastremskaya can only scour social networks in search of the “wrong” likes. After all, writing denunciations is much easier than killing yourself in training and proving your worth on the court.

Marta Kostyuk
The Ukrainian has been in the news since the beginning of this year due to his amazing performance in Brisbane. Yes, Marta could not win the championship, losing to world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the final. Here I want to talk more about Kostyuk’s path to the final, she eliminated three tennis players in the top 10, Amanda Anisimova (WTA 3), Mirra Andreeva (WTA 7) and Jessica Pegula (WTA 6), and at the beginning there was a victory over the experienced Putintseva.
Such a strong performance allowed the Ukrainian player to break into the top 20. I was impressed not only by the result, but also by the confident, mature game, there were no chances here, Marta was stronger than her strong opponents.
Elsa Jacquemot
The French tennis player cannot be called a rising star; he is 22 years old; He made a breakthrough last season, climbing more than a hundred places, which allowed him to break into the top 100. This year the athlete has already dropped three places in the world rankings.
The start of the season doesn’t look very optimistic yet; Jacquemo played in Brisbane and Hobart, losing in devastating fashion on both occasions. First he lost to Australian Tomljanovic 1:6, 3:6, then to the Polish Frenchman 4:6, 0:6. It is difficult to expect an outstanding game against such weak matches. Perhaps conclusions will be drawn from defeats, but here you will have to play even against an opponent stronger than the previous ones.
To guess
The tennis players are not far apart in the rankings, only 38 places and almost the same age in years, with Marta being a year older. Despite this, Kostyuk is considered the undisputed favorite by bookmakers.
Such quotes can be explained by the fact that the Ukrainian player was impressed in Brisbane and therefore they expected a strong performance from him. I would like to point out that the tennis players have never played each other before.
Looking ahead, I will say that in the next round the best of this pair will play with the winner of the pair Putintsev – Haddad Maya. I agree that Marta is in great form, so I’m betting her to win at 1.66 with a -5.5 game handicap.
