Kalinina defeated the former world number two racket in a tournament in Zhengzhou
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina (No. 28 WTA) reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 500 tournament in Zhengzhou (China).
In the second round of the main tour, the Ukrainian defeated 39-year-old former world number two Vera Zvonareva (No. 369 WTA).

This was the third meeting between the tennis players and the Ukrainian won for the second time. Kalinina played 48 matches against Russian tennis players and won 24 times. Meanwhile, Zvonareva stopped the world’s 17th racket, Veronika Kudermetova, in the first round.
