Carlos ALCARAZ: “It will be very difficult, but I want to try”
World number two Carlos Alcaraz confirmed his desire to finish the 2023 season at the top of the world rankings. The Spaniard made this admission after losing to Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the 1/8 final of the Masters series tournament in Shanghai.
“I want to do my best in Basel, which is my next tournament. Due to my recent results, I understand that my goal of finishing the season as world number one has become even more difficult. It will be very difficult, but I want to try. I will try to win the next tournament,” admitted Alcaraz.
The ATP 500 tournament will take place in Basel (Switzerland) from 23 to 29 October. Serbian Novak Djokovic currently ranks first in the ATP rankings with 8945 points. Alcaraz has 8445 points.
