Ons JABER: “Stop violence and freedom for Palestine!”
Tunisian tennis player Ounce Jabeur (WTA 7) responded to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Over the past few days, clashes have continued in the Middle East following the attack on Israel by the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas:
“Words cannot describe what Palestinians have gone through in the last 75 years. And the situation innocent civilians face is indescribable. It does not matter which religion they belong to or where they come from. Violence never leads to peace, I cannot support violence, but at the same time I cannot support those who take over their land.
That’s why it’s important to understand the context and not judge based solely on what’s happening today. Ignoring history is irresponsible and will not help achieve peace. And all we care about is peace. Everyone needs it and everyone deserves it. Stop the violence and freedom for Palestine!” Jabeur wrote on Instagram.
