Jabeur will not compete against Kasatkina in China. Can meet with Daria Tsurenko
World number 7 from Tunisia Ounce Jabeur Withdrew from the challenging WTA 500 series tournament held in Zhengzhou (China).
Jabeur was scheduled to play in the semi-finals Daria Kasatkina (WTA 12) but the match will not take place and Daria automatically qualified for the semi-finals of the competition.
“It’s a shame that I had to withdraw because I felt like my knees were not good. I just want to say that I enjoyed my time in Zhengzhou. Thanks to the fans who supported me, I will be back next year,” said Ons.
Today, October 12, Jabeur defeated Lucia Bronzetti in straight sets in the 2nd round of the Zhengzhou tournament.
If Lesya beats Barbora Krejcikova, Daria Kasatkina can play against Ukrainian Tsurenko in the semi-finals.
Previously, all the pairs of the 1/4 final of the WTA 500 in Zhengzhou were known.
