Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev lost to Pole Hubert Hurkacz in the final of the Masters series tournament in Shanghai.

Rublev, who received the fifth seed, lost to Hurkacz with a score of 3:6, 6:3, 6:7 (8:10). The meeting lasted 2 hours 6 minutes. The Russian led 5:2 in the tiebreaker in the third set, then lost three points in a row, but had a chance to convert the match point with the score 6:5.

For 25-year-old Rublev, this defeat was the ninth in 23 ATP title matches; in total, the tennis player has 14 victories in decisive matches at singles tournaments. Earlier this year, the Russian won the Masters in Monaco; this title remains his only one in competitions in this category.
