Honored tennis coach of Russia Viktor Yanchuk believes that the next two years will be decisive for Andrei Rublev in his professional career.
On Sunday, Rublev lost to Pole Hubert Hurkacz with a score of 3:6, 6:3, 6:7 (8:10) in the final of the Masters series tournament in Shanghai.
— I think that Rublev continues to grow and improve the quality of his game compared to last year. His victory in the Masters final in Monte Carlo is a significant event. He is literally half a step away from winning the Grand Slam tournament. He is now approaching his best time in tennis and the next two years should be defining years for him. At the ATP Final Tournament, Andrei should perform noticeably better than last year. It will be possible to make a final forecast on his form only closer to the start of the competition. But the decisive factor will be how he prepares and whether he will burn out again,” RT quotes Yanchuk as saying.
The 25-year-old Rublev has 14 victories in ATP tournaments.
