(Berlin) Boris Becker is the new coach of the young Danish player Holger Rune, announced the German, former world No.1 and six-time Grand Slam winner, Thursday on the Eurosport channel.

” I am the coach by Holger Rune,” declared on Eurosport “Boom Boom” Becker, 55, who described his new foal as “a diamond in the rough that needs to be polished.”

“We had been in contact for a long time […]. I’m flattered that he chose me,” said Becker, who has been providing his expertise as a TV consultant since his release from prison last December.

“I like this type of player with a strong temperament,” underlined Boris Becker, who was the coach of the current world No.1 Novak Djokovic from 2013 to 2016, and who has not coached for six years.
