Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas defeated Ariel Bear and Adam Pavlacek in the Antwerp final to win their first ATP tournament title.
Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas won their first ATP tournament title with 2-1 set wins Ariel Bear and Adam Pavlacek in the Antwerp final.
Their opponents won the first set, but the two brothers managed to pull off the upset and win their first title together.
The match: The game started with breaks on both sides. Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas held serve in the first service game but not in the second as Bear and Pavlacek reached the break.
On the other hand, the Greek duo immediately responded with the same coin and a draw resulted. (3-3). From then on there was no further break as the twins settled their differences in the tiebreaker.
There the Greek duo made their first brief breakthrough, but… Bear and Pavlacek managed to turn the tide and win the first set 7:6 (5).
The start of the second set was ideal for the Greek duo. Petros and Stefanos Tsitsipas started with two breaks and took a 3-0 lead.
Bear and Pavlacek managed to get one goal back, tried to tie the set but failed. Thus, the Tsitsipas brothers managed to close the second set 6-4 and end the final Tiebreak 10 points.
We had a lot of upheavals there. The two brothers led 5-2, but Bear and Pavlacek responded with the same coin and tied the set at 5-5.
Finally Stefanos and Petros Tsitsipas were able to hold their own in the final and with 10-8 they managed to finish the final and win their first major title together.
