Serena Williams cut off world number one Aryna Sabalenka from a joint photo
American tennis player Serena Williams cropped the first racket of the world, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, from a joint photo that was taken at a party in Miami.
Both athletes posted identical photos on their social media pages, but Williams zoomed in so that Sabalenka was not in the picture. Netizens criticized the American, calling her action “rude” and “disrespectful.”
Williams, 42, retired in 2022. She is a four-time Olympic champion and winner of 73 Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) tournaments. The American ranks second in the number of victories at Grand Slam tournaments in women’s singles (23), behind only Margaret Court (24).
25-year-old Sabalenka leads the WTA rankings. She is the winner of the 2023 Australian Open and 13 WTA tournaments in women’s singles.
