Kichenok and Eikeri were defeated at the start of the WTA tournament in China
Ukrainian tennis player Lyudmila Kichenok (No. 35 WTA) and her Norwegian teammate Ulrikke Eikeri (No. 38 WTA) was defeated in the first match of the WTA Elite Trophy tournament in Zhuhai, China.
The Ukrainian-Norwegian pair played with local tennis players Wang Xiyu (No. 73 WTA) and Xu Yifan (No. 56 WTA) and lost significantly to their opponents on their second serve. While Kichenok and Akeri received only three points out of 13 on their second serve, the Chinese won 11 points out of 19.
The next opponents of Lyudmila Kichenok and Ulrikke Eikeri will be second seed Japanese Miyu Kato and Indonesian tennis player Aldila Sudzhiadi.
