Number one in the old world Simona Halep He will lodge a formal appeal against a four-year ban imposed by the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) for two anti-doping program (TADP) violations.

Note that the tennis player tested positive for the banned substance roxadustat after the 2022 US Open, and violations were later detected in the athlete’s biological passport.

Halep has fiercely defended her innocence and has repeatedly sought to have the restraining order, first issued in the fall of 2022, rescinded. It was even included in the 2023 US Open but was removed from there before the start of the draw.

The four-year ban is a concurrent sentence for two TADP breaches; So both charges will likely need to be overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) before Halep can return to competition before 2026.

It was previously reported that Halep filed a lawsuit against the nutritional supplement manufacturer following her disqualification.
