American tennis player Jenson Brooksby He was temporarily suspended for violating anti-doping rules.

The fact was that the 22-year-old athlete had not provided accurate information about his whereabouts to three times a year doping controls and had missed out-of-competition controls.

The disqualification of the former 33rd racket in the world will begin on July 5, 2023 and last until January 4, 2025. Brooksby has 21 days to apply for CAS.

“I have never taken illegal substances in my life and have cooperated honestly and openly with ITIA during the investigation.

I understand that this is my responsibility, so I will learn and grow. I accepted that I missed two exams due to my own fault, but I still insist that the exam missed on June 4, 2022 cannot be counted. That day, I spent the entire hour allocated for the exam in my hotel room. It was booked under my physiotherapist’s name (who lives with me) as ATP only allocated me a room from June 4th.

The number was registered in my name since June 4, but a few days before that I asked to add my name and even gave my passport to the reception when I needed a new key. For some reason, on the morning of June 4, the hotel staff told the doping officer that I had not checked in yet. But they also showed me a computer that had already been assigned a number.

I was not aware of his arrival because the doping officer did not search the room. He called me on my cell phone (which was on silent) in the last 4 minutes of the appointed time. If a doping officer were to search the room, I would definitely pass all the tests because I have nothing to hide. I plan to appeal this decision to CAS.

I took the sample on Tuesday evening, a few hours before ITIA announced the disqualification. The person making this decision does not consider the psychological health of the players at all.

This is my fifth test since March 2023, including the test I took outside the one-hour window. None of it was positive,” Brooksby wrote on Instagram.

In 2021, Jenson unexpectedly won the first set against Novak Djokovic in the 1/8 final of the US Open, but still lost the match and was defeated in the next 3 sets.
