The 1/8 final matches of the ATP 500 tournament, played on closed hard surfaces in Basel (Switzerland) on October 26, have ended.
Top seed Holger Rune beat Sebastian Baez in straight sets and will face Thomas Martin-Etcheverry, who eliminated Sir Andy Murray, in the quarter-finals.
Unexpectedly, second seed Casper Ruud lost. He lost to Norwegian player Dominik Stricker.
3rd seed Taylor Fritz lost to Alexander Shevchenko in three tiebreaks. Interestingly, the American won the first draw with a score of 1:6.
