Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev lost to Italian Jannik Sinner in the final of the ATP tournament in Vienna, Austria.

The game lasted a little longer than three hours and ended in Sinner’s favor with a score of 7:6 (9:7), 4:6, 6:3. By the end of the meeting, Medvedev was experiencing physical discomfort; several times the Russian held his leg and limped.

The tennis players played each other in the final for the fourth time this year, Medvedev lost for the second time in a row. The overall statistics of personal meetings is now 6–2 in favor of the Russian tennis player.

For 22-year-old Sinner, this title was the fourth of the season and the 10th of his career in singles. Medvedev played in the finals of the competition in Vienna as the current champion of the tournament. For the 27-year-old Russian, this was his ninth singles title match in one season, having won five.
