American tennis player Jessica Pegula (WTA 5) successfully started at the WTA Finals 2023 in Cancun (Mexico).

In the first round of the Balakar group, the American defeated the world’s 4th racket from Kazakhstan in two sets. Elena Rybakina In 1 hour 25 minutes.

Rybakina won the first set with a score of 5:3, but then lost 4 games in a row and managed to win only 2 games in the 2nd set.

This was the 4th meeting of tennis players. Jessica won match 3 against Elena.

Jessica and Rybakina play as a quartet with Arina Sabalenko and Maria Sakkari.
