(Paris) Americans Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe, as well as Andy Murray, were eliminated in the first round of the Paris Masters.

Fourteenth seed, Tiafoe was shown the exit 6-3, 6-4 by Alexander Bublik, who thus signed a first victory on hard surface in Masters since the Miami tournament last year.

Shelton, ranked 15e, for his part fell 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-3 to Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Shelton hit 15 aces, but was unable to recover from the only break of serve in the final set.
