Super comeback from 2:5 and steering! Swiatek defeats Vondrousova at WTA Finals
world number two Iga Swiatek (Poland) made a successful start to the Final Tournament 2023 in Cancun (Mexico).
Polish team was defeated in the 1st round of the Chetumal group Sunday Vondrousovu (Czech Republic, WTA 6) in two sets in 1 hour 40 minutes.

In the first game, Iga lost 2:5 with two breaks, but managed to take the game to a tiebreaker and soon closed out Marketa with a steering in the 2nd game.
This was the 4th meeting of tennis players. Swiatek won all 4 head-to-head matches.
In the group, Chetumal Higa and Marketa play in the same group with Coco Goff and Ons Jabeur.
