World’s top 10 tennis player fined 450 thousand euros for attacking ex-girlfriend

world number 9 Alexander Zverev He was fined 450,000 euros by the German court for causing bodily harm to his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea, a former participant in the “Germany’s Next Top Model” contest.

On October 2, the Tiergarten district court issued a decision against Zverev. The German athlete was accused of physically attacking a woman and damaging her health during an argument in Berlin in May 2020. Zverev denies the accusations and will appeal the decision.

This is not the first time Zverev has faced such accusations. In November 2020, Zverev’s then-girlfriend Olga Sharypova accused the athlete of domestic violence. Zverev later categorically denied these accusations. Sharypova did not contact law enforcement, and the ATP concluded that no rules of the association were violated.
